Founder

Jewelry has been part of Ankica’s personal language for as long as she can remember.

From piercings and rings to the bangles she has worn throughout her life and the gold pieces she has collected over the years, jewelry has never been simply decorative. It can hold memory, mark a moment, carry spiritual or emotional meaning, and communicate something about us without requiring words.

That lifelong relationship became the foundation for ASH & GOLD.

After nearly two decades spent building consumer brands, she reached a point of transition in her own life and began considering what it would mean to create something entirely her own. ASH & GOLD emerged from that period—not as a departure from who she had been, but as an extension of it.

The name itself reflects that transformation. Ash represents what remains after change; Gold what can be created from it. Together they speak to the idea of becoming—of taking what life gives you and shaping it into something with meaning, strength and beauty.

Oaxaca entered the story almost unexpectedly.

A friend had once told her, simply, that she would love it there. As the idea for ASH & GOLD began to take shape, that thought stayed with her. She chose to visit Oaxaca with intention—to experience the city and the ocean while opening herself to what this next chapter might become.

Its architecture, color, gardens, craftsmanship and sense of place became a spark.

What began as a journey during the creation of the business became the creative fire behind its first collections: details observed, remembered and ultimately transformed into jewelry.

ASH & GOLD is deeply personal in that way, but it was never intended to be a brand built around its founder. Instead, it is an expression of a point of view she has been developing throughout her life: that the objects we choose to wear can say something about who we are, where we have been and who we are becoming.

ASH & GOLD is her expression of that belief—and an invitation for others to find their own meaning within it.
